Worth a read, school librarians. I love how Barbara Stripling makes this very cogent point: "a threat to one type of library is a threat to all libraries." Sometimes I wonder if public and academic librarians get that (I say that with all due respect to my colleagues in these libraries). If students don’t have access to quality materials curated by a professional school librarian (who is also trained to teach both students and adults) then what is the likelihood they will seek out a library after school?
