Over the past 18 years, astronomers have discovered 1038 planets orbiting distant stars.

As I read this article I thought it would be a perfect foil to blend science with art by having students use it as a writing prompt. What would those planets look like? What kind of life forms would be there? How could one use scientific fact to create a new exoplanet world? Fire up imaginations with science!
