As we begin celebrating Connected Educators Month, it is important to recognize how empowering getting connected can be for many teachers. For some, they find fellow teachers with similar interests and passions.

This is right-on – the idea that getting connected is empowering. That’s certainly true for the school librarian who is typically alone in his/her field in each school. Having been a member of LM-NET since 1995 I can attest to the power of having thousands of fellow practitioners ready to help at other end of an email. This is worth sharing with teachers who may see connecting as valuable but not really sure why…
